In a new achievement added to the series of continuous productions of the training and workshops center , the technical staff of the center designed, implemented and installed a number of beams in the internal streets of the university to regulate the process of vehicle movement inside the university and to ensure that it does not interfere with the movement of students inside the university ... It is mentioned that the work continued for more than several years. Days that included cutting, welding and fixing the beams in the places designated for them, in addition to the process of painting them after that.

The Assistant President of the University for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Dr. Hussein Hamid Karim, visited the training and workshops center , Tuesday, to inspect the progress of the training process in the center after the recent ministerial instructions to adopt blended education for students of the first stage of the scientific and engineering departments of the university and students of specialization for advanced stages, and he was received by the Director of the Center. Prof. Dr. Wissam Hamid Aliwi, and during the tour of administrative assistant to the president of the university was briefed on all aspects of training in the center and met with a number of trainee students inside the educational workshops of the center and listened to their suggestions and observations regarding the blended learning process, which represents the training and workshops center impact on University of Technology evaluation. That this inspection visit witnessed special coverage by the university satellite channel and the central media of the University of Technology. At the end of the visit, the Administrative Assistant to the President of the University praised the great efforts made by the center's employees, including teachers, engineers and technicians, and the high level of organization of students inside the workshops, which he clearly touched during the visit.

In implementation of the directives of the respected center management and the directives of the crisis cell at the university, the training staff of the welding workshop started today the process of sterilization and complete disinfection of the workshop using various types of medical disinfectants and alcoholic materials to maintain the safety of the trainees inside the workshop, especially that the welding workshop is one of the important and main specialized workshops in the center A large number of first-year students enter it for all scientific and engineering departments of the university and for the morning and evening meals, in addition to students of the second and third stages of the departments of specialization, in addition to a large number of students of the fourth stage and postgraduate students from inside and outside the university for the purpose of completing the requirements of the practical part of their studies.. Staff confirmed The workshop stated that this procedure will be implemented on a daily basis to ensure the safety of students and the staff responsible for the practical and theoretical training process for students.

The Director of the Training and workshops  Center , Prof. Wissam Hamid Alawi, participated in the PhD student discussion committee (Hadi Obaid Marri) in the Mechanical Engineering Department at the University of Technology,  his thesis title  (controlling of transient flow using different type of air vessels and relive valves for long pumping lines). It is noteworthy that the student obtained a doctorate degree with distinction in the field of mechanical engineering.
